Miss Schwierking’s Alternative Kindergarten Class
Hello! My name is Jamie Schwierking or as the kids call me, “Miss S.”. This is my fifth year teaching here at Trinity
Lutheran School in the Alternative Kindergarten program. I am a graduate from The Ohio State University. I graduated
from there with both my Bachelors and Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education.
I live here in Marysville with my two extremely spoiled dogs, Buckeye & Sara. I absolutely love dogs! My niece,
Hanna, will probably be stopping in from time to time throughout the year to help out in the classroom. I would
also like to extend the invitation to parents, grandparents, & care givers as well. If you would ever like
to help out in the classroom you are more than welcome. Just get a hold of me and we can set up times that will
work well for both of us. I am sure the kids would love to see you there.
I know we will have a fabulous year together and I am looking forward to meeting all of you. During the year we
will go on lots of fun fieldtrips. We will go to the zoo, pumpkin patch, Franklin Park Conservatory, and many different
walking fieldtrips to see our community. Over the next nine months we will study all kinds of cool things. In science
we will study animals, dinosaurs, weather, properties of matter, magnets and much more. We will become marvelous
in math by learning numbers, addition/subtraction, geometry, basic algebra, and so on. Social Studies is so cool
because we learn all about our world, about our friends, and ourselves. Everyone even gets to have a week that
is “All About Me”. Literacy is great because we get to learn to read
and write stories. To make the year even more fun we have 6 different specials. They are art, Spanish, gym, music,
library, and Chapel. Boy, we sure are going to be busy but it will be a lot of fun!
